DANCE CONNECTS THE DOTS
What is your current relationship to your movement practice?
For me it evolves with age, interests, priorities, goals and motivation levels. If we only think of exercise as a means to look a certain way it gets old fast and it's difficult to sustain a routine.
On the other hand if it is a tool for enhanced body mind connection and deep expression from within for greater wholeness... it's much easier to look forward to our movement routine... we even learn to rely on it.
If you've been involved in dance, you know it connects the dots from heart to mind, from body to soul and it connects us to each other. Imagine a group of people dancing in unison to the same music and evoking the same feelings. That's a powerful pathway to connection and community.
In a world where it's possible to feel isolated and alone social connection is essential to our well-being.
A dance class can be intimidating, competitive and bring out perfectionist tendencies and frustration OR it can be a sacred space inclusive, welcoming and support the celebration of each small success that comes with insight awareness and joy.
In my MARTHA GRAHAM MID-WINTER INTENSIVE beginning Jan 8th you will find a welcoming space of caring, creativity and compassion that is fertile ground for personal development.
Perhaps you danced as a child, teen, at the college level, professionally or as an educator or you found and loved it later in life.
The intensive is designed for anyone who gets that dance is simply good for the soul. Join like-hearted souls who know that for a precious 90 minutes worries and fears fade into the background and joy and laughter come into focus.
